Client is a US based global leader in healthcare, consumer and medical products. Client has 250 offices in 60 countries with approximately 118,000 employees worldwide and has an approximate revenue of $65.00 billion.
Eternus Solutions was engaged with client’s Middle East subsidiary for multiple development, implementation and support engagements, across Microsoft technologies.
Client had implemented intranet and internet portal using Microsoft SharePoint 2007. The existing out of the box features of SharePoint did not completely fulfill client’s requirements and hence the client wanted web parts to be developed with detailed specifications.
These web parts in turn could be used into all the SharePoint implementations across all the offices of the client. Some examples of its usage include a yearly view of calendar and SharePoint timer job based file upload.
Considering need for deployment over several locations, all the web parts were expected to have configurations and hence each web parts was a productized solution.
The client also needed a reliable and comprehensive tool for internal communication that could cater to needs for instant communication. These needs included instant messaging, online meetings and screen sharing. The tool needed to be synchronized with client’s existing Microsoft infrastructure.
Microsoft SharePoint 2007
Microsoft Lync
Microsoft Exchange Server
Eternus Solutions team evaluated each requirement very closely and proposed a roadmap where all the web parts could be covered within specific timeframe. These web parts were mainly reusable productivity tools with multipoint integration from multiple locations to SharePoint 2007.

Highly configurable including UI
Remote assistance for deployment
For catering to the client’s internal communication needs and leveraging client’s existing Microsoft infrastructure, Eternus Solutions decided to implement Microsoft Lync across the client organization.
Lync directly integrated with Active Directory of exchange server. Hence, all users of the client’s Active Directory/ Microsoft Exchange Server could use their existing accounts to access and collaborate using Lync.
